Playback Issues
The music stopped or the bot left voice
Section titled “The music stopped or the bot left voice”If playback stops mid-session or the bot drops out of the voice channel:
- Press Stop, then start again — or run
/playand pick a mood. Playback should restart. - Still stuck? Disconnect the bot manually: right-click Soncraft in the voice channel, choose Disconnect, then try again.
- Still not working? Head to the Soncraft Discord and use the Report Issue button so we can dig in.
A couple of cases where leaving is expected:
- Soncraft leaves shortly after the voice channel empties out. Rejoin the channel and press play again.
- Very long sessions end on their own after 12 hours.
Both are by design — see Good to Know for other behaviors that look odd but are normal.
The bot won’t join my voice channel
Section titled “The bot won’t join my voice channel”- Join a voice channel first. Soncraft follows you — it can’t join until you’re in a channel.
- Check the bot’s permissions. It needs View Channel, Connect, and Speak in your voice channel. If one is missing, Soncraft tells you which one when you try to play. Ask a server admin to grant it, then try again.
I picked a mood but nothing plays
Section titled “I picked a mood but nothing plays”- Make sure you picked a module first, then a mood.
- The very first play on a fresh server can take a few extra seconds while Soncraft downloads the music — you’ll see a note if that’s the case. Give it a moment.
- Check
/plan. If your free game night is used up this month, you’ll need a Game Night Pack or Unlimited — or wait for the reset on the 1st.
It says I need a home server
Section titled “It says I need a home server”Your free game night works in one server — your home server. If you’re playing somewhere else, Soncraft shows a Make this my home server button. Click it, then pick your mood again. If you play in many servers, a Game Night Pack works everywhere without switching.
