Good to Know

A few things Soncraft does by design that sometimes get mistaken for bugs.

  • The bot is deafened on purpose. The red deafen icon means Soncraft can’t hear anything in your channel. It only sends music — it never listens to your conversation.
  • It leaves when everyone else does. Shortly after the voice channel empties out, Soncraft disconnects on its own. Rejoin the channel and press play to bring it back.
  • It joins on its own — but only if you’re in a channel first. Soncraft follows you. Start music and it appears in your channel; it can’t join if you aren’t in one.
  • Very long sessions end on their own after 12 hours. Just press play again.
  • Nothing ever repeats — and that’s the point. Soncraft arranges human-composed music in real time. There’s no track list, so there’s no way to replay the exact passage you heard last session. Every session is fresh.
  • Switching moods never restarts the music. The current music crossfades into the new mood — no gaps, no hard cuts.
  • Dashboard volume changes it for everyone. The volume buttons set the level for the whole channel. To adjust it just for yourself, right-click Soncraft in the voice channel and drag User Volume.
  • Dashboards expire after about a day. If the buttons stop responding, run /play to get a fresh one.
  • Only the person who opened a dashboard can start audio from it. This protects your free playtime. Anyone else can run /play for their own dashboard — and on Pro-activated servers, anyone can use any dashboard.
  • The bot can’t DM you. Discord doesn’t allow it. That’s why /report gives you a reference code to post in the Soncraft Discord instead.
  • The first play of a module can have a slight delay while the audio gets ready.
