Stuttering or Choppy Audio

Music that stutters, skips, or briefly cuts in and out is almost never the bot itself. Soncraft streams a smooth, continuous feed to Discord — when we check stutter reports on our side, the stream leaving our servers is nearly always perfect. The gaps appear on the way to you: between Discord’s voice server and the people listening.

That means the fix depends on one question: does everyone in the channel hear it, or just you?

Just you (or one person) hears it

That person’s connection to Discord is dropping audio. In order of likelihood:

1. Leave and rejoin the voice channel. This reconnects your audio stream and fixes most cases.
2. Restart Discord if rejoining doesn’t help.
3. Check your network. Weak Wi-Fi, a busy VPN, or a congested connection all cause choppy Discord audio — and it usually affects voices too, not just the music.
4. Bluetooth headphones can stutter on their own when the connection is weak or the battery is low. Try wired headphones or speakers to rule this out.

Everyone hears it

When the whole channel hears the same stuttering, the Discord voice server hosting your call is having trouble. It happens — and it usually passes within a few minutes. To fix it faster:

• Ask a server admin to change the channel’s voice region. Right-click the voice channel → Edit Channel → Region Override, and pick a nearby region. This moves your call to a different Discord voice server, which almost always clears the problem. You can set it back to Automatic later.
• Or have everyone leave the channel and rejoin after a minute or two.

Pressing Stop and Play again won’t fix stuttering — the music stream was already flowing fine — but it doesn’t hurt anything either.

If it keeps happening

Use /report and tell us:

1. Roughly what time it happened
2. Whether everyone heard it or just one person — this is the single most useful detail for tracking it down
