Sound Issues
I can’t hear any music
Section titled “I can’t hear any music”- The bot shows up as a user in the voice channel. Right-click it and check it isn’t muted or turned down for you.
- Check the music volume on the dashboard — someone may have lowered it.
- Try leaving and rejoining the voice channel.
Everyone else hears the music, but I don’t
Section titled “Everyone else hears the music, but I don’t”Sometimes Discord stops delivering the bot’s audio to one person mid-call. The music is still playing — everyone else hears it — but your Discord app has lost the stream. It’s a Discord hiccup on your end, not the bot:
- Leave and rejoin the voice channel. This reconnects your audio and almost always fixes it.
- If it doesn’t, fully restart Discord.
- Pressing Stop and Play again won’t help — that restarts the music for everyone else while your audio stays lost.
- While you’re at it, right-click Soncraft in the voice channel and make sure its User Volume hasn’t been dragged down to zero.
If the music is cutting in and out rather than gone entirely, see Stuttering or Choppy Audio.
The music makes other people’s voices sound worse
Section titled “The music makes other people’s voices sound worse”When music plays through someone’s speakers, it bleeds into their microphone. Discord’s noise suppression then fights the music, and that person’s voice comes out garbled or robotic to everyone else. It looks like the bot broke their mic, but it’s happening on their own computer.
- Headphones fix it. Anyone whose voice degrades while music plays should switch from speakers to headphones.
- Keep the music under the conversation. Lower the music volume on the dashboard — background music works best well below full volume.
- Each listener can also right-click Soncraft in the voice channel and adjust User Volume. It only changes what they hear.
The music sounds distorted or crackly
Section titled “The music sounds distorted or crackly”- Right-click Soncraft in the voice channel and check your personal User Volume. Discord lets you boost it up to 200% — anything above 100% can distort. Set it to 100% or below and raise the dashboard volume instead.
- Turn the dashboard music volume down a step — loud moments and mood transitions can sound harsh at full volume.
- If it keeps happening, use
/reportand tell us which module and mood were playing so we can check that music.
